Pengaruh Penerapan Soal Higher Order Thinking Skills Terhadap Berpikir Kritis Siswa PAI SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinang

This study aims to determine: (1) the implementation of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions at SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinang, (2) students' critical thinking skills at SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinang, and (3) the effect of implementing HOTS questions on students' critical thinking skills. This research used a quantitative method with a population of all 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinang, totaling 612 students, and a sample of 13% or 80 students. Data collection techniques included observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of HOTS questions (variable X) reached 54.1%, categorized as fairly good, while students' critical thinking skills (variable Y) reached 73.4%, categorized as good. The effect of implementing HOTS questions on critical thinking skills indicated a correlation coefficient of rxy = 0.774, categorized as strong. Based on the determination coefficient calculation, the implementation of HOTS questions influenced students' critical thinking skills by 62.5%, while the remaining 37.5% was influenced by other factors. With the calculated r-value greater than the r-table value at a significance level of 5% and 1% (0.2199 < 0.774 > 0.3611), Ha is accepted, and Ho is rejected. The analysis results indicate a significant relationship between the implementation of HOTS questions and students' critical thinking skills at SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinang.
