Abstract

This community service program is focused on enhancing the value of used cooking oil so that it can be utilized as an economic commodity based on green economy principles in the cracker production center in Bintan. Used cooking oil is often treated as waste and has the potential to cause environmental pollution if it is not properly managed. This activity was carried out by lecturers and students of the Sharia Economics Study Program at Miftahul Ulum Islamic Institute Tanjungpinang using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which actively involves the community in the educational process and the collection of used cooking oil. The results of this activity indicate an increase in community awareness regarding the importance of proper waste management, while also creating opportunities for the development of new environmentally friendly businesses. In addition, this program has a positive impact in reducing the potential for environmental pollution and supporting the implementation of sustainable economic concepts.
